Brush & Leaf Pickup

How, what, where and when to put out brush and leaves for City of Saugatuck pickup.

How

Stack brush neatly near the roadway in the curb or shoulder area, away from poles, wires, signs and valve boxes. Lay all limbs in the same direction. Leave leaves un-bagged and separate from limbs.

What

Brush and leaves only. Nothing over 8 inches in diameter or 4 feet long. No grass clippings, roots, thorny branches, trunks, stumps or construction materials.

Where

The curb or shoulder in front of your own property. Do not block storm drains or traffic lanes. Piles no higher than 4 feet.

When

No sooner than the Friday before your scheduled monthly pickup.

Grass clippings

The City is not legally authorized to dispose of grass clippings. Please mulch them instead.

Fines

City Code Sections 50.05 and 50.99.

First violation: $25
Second violation: $100
Third or later violation: $250
